Ideal for anyone who’d like to achieve a more youthful appearance, a thread lift can tackle the tell-tale signs of aging. Targeting everything from crow’s feet to nasolabial and marionette lines (which run from the nose and mouth and contribute to a frown-like appearance), PDO thread-lifts are also beneficial for treating jowls and a sagging neck, as they help kill off fat cells.
In short, if you’d like the benefits of a facelift without the upheaval of surgery, then this is the procedure for you. This treatment works great with the Ultherapy.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Local anesthetic is applied to the skin to numb the area, before around 10 micro-fine needles are inserted into the area, ready to work their magic. These are then gently withdrawn, leaving the threads in place. Taking around 10 minutes per treated area, you shouldn’t feel any discomfort as the needles are so fine. In fact, there won’t be any signs that you’ve had anything done. For up to 24 hours after, you should feel some sensitivity, with the results lasting two to three years. Improving gradually over three to six months, results will be visible immediately, too. You can be back to work almost immediately and you’ll be fully recovered in terms of any sensitivity within seven days. Please note: there is a small risk of bruising, infection and swelling.
Thanks to the scaffolding effect of the threads, you should notice an immediate tightening of sagging skin, which will continue to improve over the coming months, as tubes of collagen form around the threads. Your skin will appear firmer, with any lines minimized. The threads dissolve around six months after the procedure, leaving the collagen matrix in their place for two to three years and ensuring the benefits last some time.
